Last-Minute Guide to the Baby & Belly Picnic: What to Expect & Why to Come

Thinking about stopping by Babies & Bellies but not sure what to expect?
Whether you just found out about the event or you’ve had it on your calendar for weeks, this relaxed gathering is your space to connect, breathe, and feel supported—wherever you’re at in your parenting journey.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what to know before you come!

What is the Baby & Belly Picnic

It’s an outdoor community event hosted by Sun & Stars Birth Services—created just for expecting parents, postpartum families, and anyone navigating early parenthood in the Madison area.

No pressure, no perfection—just fresh air, good vibes, and judgment-free connection with people who get it.

What to Bring

There’s no need to overthink it! You’re welcome to bring:

  • A blanket or chairs to sit on

  • Your baby, bump, toddler—or all three

  • Favorite snacks or drinks

  • Water, sunscreen, and anything else you’d pack for a relaxed day at the park

  • A friend, partner, or support person

We’ll take care of the rest!

What You’ll Find at the Event

Here’s what’s happening at the Baby & Belly Picnic:

✔️ Drop-in support from doulas, lactation consultants, car seat techs & infant sleep educators
✔️ A baby-safe play area plus toddler-friendly fun
✔️ Giveaways, a community resource table, and more!
✔️ Connection, encouragement, and real conversation

Come for 15 Minutes… or Stay All Afternoon

This is a totally drop-in style event. No sign-up needed and no set schedule. Whether you pop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time, you’re welcome just as you are.

And yes, even if:

  • You’re tired

  • You don’t know anyone

  • You don’t feel “put together”

You’ll fit right in. 💛
