Sun & Stars Birth Services is a postpartum doula agency serving families across Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois — from Madison to Milwaukee, Sun Prairie to the North Shore of Chicago. We specialize in overnight newborn care, daytime postpartum support, and infant sleep consulting, and we take the matching process as seriously as the care itself.

A little more about our founder
Sun & Stars was built by Rachael McGauley, a certified postpartum doula whose path into this work started exactly the way most good things do: watching someone she loved struggle through early motherhood and deciding to do something about it.
After years working with families as a nanny and later completing her Infant Care and Postpartum Doula certification, Rachael saw something the doula industry was missing — not just skilled individual providers, but a system that families could actually rely on. So she built one.
Today, Sun & Stars supports families across three markets with a team of 25+ doulas, ongoing community programming including Madison's weekly Mom Walks, and a growing suite of services designed to meet families wherever they are in the postpartum journey.
When she's not building the team or supporting clients, Rachael lives just south of Madison with her husband and their two dogs, tends a small flock of chickens, and holds firm to the belief that slow, intentional living is something every new parent deserves — and something we can actually help make possible.
